OLSENS ANONYMOUS BLOG DAD Multiple Myeloma Cancer Stem Cell Transplant Donor

Last night, my father passed away after battling cancer for almost four years.
He's had three close calls, but this time it happened + I am heartbroken.

I am going to be taking a short break from blogging to be with my family. I mentioned to someone earlier that blogging has always served as a great distraction, so I will definitely be back at it soon.

In honor of my dad, I urge you to take a moment to consider donating your stem-cells to help cure or even just help prolong the lives of others suffering from cancer + other diseases. While my father's stem cell transplant from a donor did not cure his cancer, it gave him another precious year to be with us + we couldn't be more thankful.

    I'm following your blog for a while now, but never commented until now. I so very sorry you have to miss your father already. I lost my mom to cancer a year ago so I know what you're going through. I wish you all the love in the world and hope you'll be with your family and are able to look after your mom. Just be together, cherish the beautiful moments, hold on to each other and remember your father as the amazing man he was and still is in your heart. I promise you'll be better, but for now... just hold on to each other and I wish you all the best.

  142. I am deeply sorry for your loss. I am not happy to say I understand the pain of loosing a father, for I lost mine a month ago. I also started a blog to distract me, but it doesn't. It will get harder as the days go by so it is important to stay close to those who shared in the memories of your father. At times I question it but it is good to find peace of mind in knowing they are no longer suffering and their souls are at rest. You must stay strong because I know he would not like to see you in pain. He will give you strength and will always be with you. Though! you are human so cry in commemoration of the memories you enjoyed together. Peace and my heart goes out to you.

I lost my dad to lung cancer in 2000, and it was (and still is) a VERY hard thing to deal with.
